Should you possess a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). All shortlisted candidates, including SMS shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One shall be a practical exercise, and the other an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment. Selection panels shall score both technical exercises as an additional criterion in the interview process. It will be expected of candidates to be available for selection interviews on a date, time and place as determined by the Department. Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered. No faxed or copied application will be considered. All appointments are subjected to personnel suitability checks (criminal record check, citizenship verification, financial/asset record checks, qualification /study verification and previous employment verification, reference checks and security vetting. SMS appointments are also subjected to SMS competency assessment as a DPSA requirement. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts and positions with requisite skills will be subjected to a technical exercise that intends to test relevant technical elements of the job.
