    The Office of the Chief Justice is seeking applications from dynamic individuals for the role of Administration Clerk. This position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the essential administration and support functions that underpin the operations of the justice system. Candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, and driven by a passion to make a meaningful impact in the judiciary are encouraged to apply.

    Administration Clerk Role Overview:

    • Position: Administration Clerk (Level 05)
    • Salary: R216,417 – R254,928 per annum
    • Location: National Office, Midrand
    • Reference Number: 2024/76/OCJ
    • Closing date: 01 July 2024

    Qualifications:

    • Matric Certificate.
    • A three-year National Diploma/Degree in HRM/Public Administration or equivalent and relevant qualification at NQF level 6 with 360 credits as recognised by SAQA will be an added advantage.
    • A valid driver’s license.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Knowledge of PERSAL will be an added advantage. (shortlisted candidates will be required to submit PERSAL certificate/results).
    • Knowledge of HRM/D legislation and policies.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of HRD (Human Resource Development) and PMDS (Performance Management and Development System).
    • Knowledge and understanding of the Legislation/Prescripts and framework governing the Public Service.
    • Knowledge of HRD related standards, practices, processes, and procedures.
    • Batho Pele principles.
    • Communication skills.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Project management skills.
    • Analytical skills.
    • Report writing skills.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Organising and planning skills.
    • Computer literacy (Ms Office).

    Responsibilities:

    • Support Human Resource Management and Development processes.
    • Administer internal bursaries processes within the Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ).
    • Coordinate and administer the departmental induction programme.
    • Provide administrative support for the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS).
    • Assist in the administration of the moderation of performance and implementation of performance incentives.
    • Offer general administrative support services as required.

    Administration Clerk Role Application Guidelines:

    • Address your application to: The Director: Human Resources, Office of the Chief Justice.
    • Include the relevant reference number (e.g., REF NO: 2024/76/OCJ) clearly in your application.
    • Send your application via postal mail to: Private Bag X10, Marshalltown, 2107.
    • Alternatively, hand-deliver your application to the Office of the Chief Justice, Human Resource Management, at 188, 14th Road, Noordwyk, Midrand, 1685.

    Additional information:

    • Applications must be submitted on a New Z83 form.
    • Include a recent comprehensive CV with contactable referees (telephone numbers and email addresses).
    • Only shortlisted candidates will need to submit certified copies of qualifications and other related documents upon communication from Human Resources.
    • Ensure the Z83 form is fully completed, signed, and initialed by the applicant, indicating the correct job title, office where the position is advertised, and the reference number.
    • Applications on the old Z83 form will not be considered.
    • Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
    • Dual citizenship holders must provide a Police Clearance certificate from their country of origin when shortlisted. Non-South African citizens must submit proof of South African permanent residence when shortlisted.
    • Applications that do not comply with the above requirements will not be considered.
    • Suitable candidates will undergo a personnel suitability check, including criminal record, financial checks, qualification verification, citizenship checks, reference checks, and employment verification.
    • Correspondence will be limited to short-listed candidates only. If not contacted within three (3) months after the closing date, consider the application unsuccessful.
    • The department reserves the right not to make any appointment to the advertised post.
    • Late applications or those not meeting requirements will not be considered.
    • Shortlisted candidates for Senior Management Service (SMS) posts will undergo a technical competency exercise and DPSA SMS competency assessment tools.
    • Candidates may be required to provide consent for access to their social media accounts.
    • The Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme certificate is a minimum requirement for SMS posts.
    • Successful candidates must enter into an employment contract and a performance agreement within 3 months of appointment, and undergo a security clearance three (3) months after appointment.
    • The Office of the Chief Justice complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and will use provided personal information solely for recruitment purposes.
    • Personal information of unsuccessful candidates will be retained for internal audit purposes.
    • Candidates must meet departmental Employment Equity goals.
    • For SMS posts, candidates must have the Public Service SMS Pre-Entry certificate prior to appointment.
