    If you are a young, unemployed South African looking for a career in engineering and skilled trades, the Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) has great news for you. The Apprenticeship Program Necsa Learning Academy program for 2025-2027 is now open for applications.


    This is a fantastic opportunity to gain nationally recognized, accredited technical and professional training in one of South Africa’s top skills development institutions. If you meet the requirements and are eager to kick-start your career, apply now before the closing date on 25 February 2025.

    What is the Necsa Learning Academy Apprenticeship Programme?

    Necsa Learning Academy is offering apprenticeship vacancies in two critical occupational trades:

    1. Metal Machinist (Turner)

    A Metal Machinist is a highly skilled professional specializing in manufacturing precision metal parts and instruments. Their work involves using machinery such as:

    • Lathes
    • Milling machines
    • Grinders
    • Advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) equipment

    If you have a passion for precision engineering, problem-solving, and working with metals, this could be the perfect career for you.

    2. Toolmaker

    A Toolmaker is responsible for creating:

    • Precision tools
    • Molds
    • Jigs and fixtures
    • Dies used in manufacturing

    This trade is ideal for those who enjoy technical drawing, engineering mechanics, and working with high-precision tools.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for the Necsa Apprenticeship Programme, you must meet the following academic requirements:

    • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) with Maths and Science, OR
    • N2-N6 certificate with 4 subjects (including relevant trade theory), OR
    • Technical Matric with Maths, Science, and relevant trade theory, OR
    • NCV Level 3/4 Engineering Certificate with 7 subjects (including relevant trade theory)

    Additionally, candidates must:

    • Have technical knowledge
    • Be able to work in a team
    • Meet medical fitness, security clearance, qualification verification, and technical assessments requirements

    Apprenticeship Locations & Reference Numbers

    Only candidates from the following provinces can apply:

    • Eastern Cape
    • Free State
    • KwaZulu-Natal
    • Limpopo
    • Mpumalanga
    • Northern Cape
    • North West
