Overview

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government, is seeking a skilled and experienced Architect to contribute to Education Infrastructure. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping educational spaces in the Western Cape.

Location: Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government
Salary:

  • Grade A: R687,879 – R739,509 per annum
  • Grade B: R783,693 – R834,993 per annum
  • Grade C: R881,121 – R1,035,084 per annum (OSD salary determined as prescribed)

Requirements

  • B-Degree in Architecture or relevant qualification
  • SACAP registration as a professional Architect
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification architectural experience
  • Valid code B driving licence

  • Contract documentation and administration
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS Act)
  • Familiarity with National Building Regulations, SANS, and relevant built environment legislation
  • Programme and project management
  • Research and planning procedures
  • Financial management
  • Formulation of policies in a multi-disciplinary professional environment

Duties

  • Manage professional in-house project teams and committees
  • Procurement process management
  • Monitor, control, and report on project/programme implementation
  • Extract data to assist client departments with drafting user asset management plans
  • Stay updated on new technologies and procedures
  • Assist technical staff in achieving performance indicators and service delivery imperatives
  • Manage framework, term service, and consultant agreements
