    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for the Artisan Assistant position, candidates must meet the following requirements: 

    • Education: Grade 12 with technical subjects, or Technical N3.
    • Experience: Minimum of 6 months in a general workshop or technical environment, preferably with experience working on earthmoving machines.
    • Skills:
      • Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.
      • Ability to read, write, and speak English with good communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Valid driver’s license (code 8) is advantageous.
      • Additional certifications (forklift, crane, welding) are beneficial but not required.
    • Attributes:
      • Passion for heavy earthmoving machinery.
      • Basic knowledge of the Health and Safety Act (SHE).

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The successful candidate for the Artisan Assistant position will be responsible for the following: 

    • Machine/Component Handling:
      • Assist with assembly and disassembly of machines and components.
      • Clean components and machines.
      • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
    • Operations:
      • Drive Komatsu service vehicles.
      • Operate Komatsu machines.
      • Work overtime and standby as required; be prepared to travel when needed.
    • Support:
      • Assist artisans in all aspects of their work.
      • Ensure safety in all operations, particularly where machine and component movements are involved.
      • Use basic tools effectively and understand their purposes.
      • Work well under pressure and within a team environment.
