Key Responsibilities:
- Investigation: Conduct and assist with investigations into environmental crimes affecting SANParks.
- Information Collection: Gather and analyze data related to environmental crime.
- Crime Scene Analysis: Support the reconstruction of crime scenes and the compilation of investigative reports.
- Reporting & Administration: Prepare detailed reports, maintain crime information records, and manage administrative tasks.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and contribute to the overall crime information strategy of SANParks.
Requirements:
- Education: Tertiary Diploma in Conservation Management, Policing, or Crime Investigation.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant field; conservation experience is a plus.
- Licenses & Certificates: Valid Code 08 driver’s license, firearm competency certificates, and EMI appointment.
- Skills:
- Proficient in computer use and administrative tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of Marine Living Resources Act, Protected Areas Act, and Criminal Procedures Act.
- Strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in challenging conditions and across teams.
- Multi-linguistic and negotiation skills.
