    Join SANParks as an Assistant Investigator – Environmental Crime Investigation (ECI)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Investigation: Conduct and assist with investigations into environmental crimes affecting SANParks.
    • Information Collection: Gather and analyze data related to environmental crime.
    • Crime Scene Analysis: Support the reconstruction of crime scenes and the compilation of investigative reports.
    • Reporting & Administration: Prepare detailed reports, maintain crime information records, and manage administrative tasks.
    • Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and contribute to the overall crime information strategy of SANParks.

    Requirements:

    • Education: Tertiary Diploma in Conservation Management, Policing, or Crime Investigation.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant field; conservation experience is a plus.
    • Licenses & Certificates: Valid Code 08 driver’s license, firearm competency certificates, and EMI appointment.
    • Skills:
      • Proficient in computer use and administrative tasks.
      • Strong verbal and written communication.
      • Knowledge of Marine Living Resources Act, Protected Areas Act, and Criminal Procedures Act.
      • Strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to work in challenging conditions and across teams.
      • Multi-linguistic and negotiation skills.
