1. Legal Aid SA: Paralegal – Hartswater Satellite Office (Ref: KIMB/PAR/26/01/2024)
Location: Hartswater Satellite Office, Kimberley Local Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide paralegal support to legal staff.
- Manage non-litigious matters and escalate litigious cases to Legal Practitioners.
- Oversee legal administration and maintain the client database.
- Conduct client interviews and assist in form completion.
Requirements:
- National Senior/Matric certificate and a 1-year Paralegal qualification.
- Computer literacy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- A valid code 08 driver’s licence is an advantage.
Salary: Level 6 (R241,485.00) per annum plus benefits.
2. Legal Aid SA: High Court Legal Practitioner – Criminal (Ref: CAPE/HCLP/26/01/2024)
Location: Cape Town Local Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal representation of indigent persons in High Court criminal matters.
- Supervise and train Candidate Attorneys.
- Office administration and legal advocacy for women, children, and landless people.
Requirements:
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate (with completed pupillage).
- At least 7 years of post-qualification experience, including significant High Court exposure.
- LLB degree and a proven track record in criminal matters at High Court level.
- A valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
Salary: LP-7 (R844,572.00) all-inclusive package per annum.
3. Legal Aid SA: Supervisory Legal Practitioner – Criminal (Ref: UPING/SLP-CRIM/26/01/2024)
Location: Prieska Satellite Office, Upington Local Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and supervise Candidate Attorneys and Legal Practitioners.
- Coordinate legal training and quality assessments.
- Provide legal representation in criminal matters.
- Maintain and update the law library.
Requirements:
- B Proc or LLB degree and admission as an attorney.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-admission legal experience, preferably in a senior role.
- Strong mentoring, negotiation, research, and administrative skills.
- A valid code 08 driver’s licence is mandatory.
Salary: SU-1 (R935,109.00) all-inclusive package per annum.
