Roles and Responsibilities
As a Chef De Partie, you will work under the guidance of the Junior Sous Chef to prepare and produce food at a high standard. Your main responsibilities will include:
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Ensure the kitchen station has enough ingredients according to the daily catering plan.
- Cook a variety of meals while meeting strict time deadlines.
Food Presentation and Serving
- Follow instructions on how to present dishes beautifully.
- Decorate and garnish food before serving.
- Serve meals at different events and assist guests with inquiries about dishes and ingredients.
Kitchen and Staff Coordination
- Guide and coach casual staff in food preparation techniques.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
Who Can Apply?
Essential Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification
- Certificate in Food Cookery or related field
- Two years of relevant experience in food preparation
Preferred Requirements:
- Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields:
- Catering Management
- Hospitality Management
- Food and Beverages Management
- Culinary Arts
- Three years of relevant experience
