The Management Echelon of the Department of Traditional Affairs is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Chief Director: Policy & Legislation. This senior management position, based in Pretoria, offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the drafting, implementation, and management of national policies, legislation, and norms within the traditional affairs sector.

Requirements:
- Education: A degree or equivalent qualification (NQF7) in Law, Public Policy/Monitoring & Evaluation/Research, or any relevant qualification in public administration fields.
- Experience: 5 years at senior management level, with a relevant qualification at NQF level 8 serving as an added advantage.
- Certification: A Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS).
- Skills: Strategic capacity and leadership, people management and empowerment, program and project management, change management, financial management, legislation drafting, implementation, and monitoring, advanced research skills, and excellent analytical thinking.
Duties:
The Chief Director: Policy & Legislation will play a pivotal role in leading the drafting of national policies, legislation, and norms within the traditional affairs sector. Responsibilities include managing implementation, identifying gaps, monitoring compliance, and providing interpretation of national traditional affairs legislation. The successful candidate will lead policy research, inform content, and manage human and financial resources within the Chief Directorate.
