This reputable Non-Profit Organization (NPO) is dedicated to providing child protection services, guided by South Africa’s Children’s Act, and seeks to fill critical positions within its team.


    Child Welfare Durban and District Vacancies

    1. Income Development/Marketing Administrator

    This position is based in Greyville, and the successful candidate will focus on generating income and managing marketing initiatives to support Child Welfare Durban and District’s objectives. It is a full-time role with a competitive cost-to-company salary of R6,500.00.

    Key Requirements

    To be eligible, you must meet the following qualifications and skills:

    • A relevant qualification in Marketing, Public Relations, or a similar field.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in an office environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
    • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
    • A valid driver’s license is advantageous.

    Core Responsibilities

    Your day-to-day tasks will include:

    • Handling general office duties like photocopying, scanning, and administration.
    • Driving new fundraising initiatives and building relationships with sponsors.
    • Assisting in event planning and working collaboratively with colleagues to develop creative fundraising ideas.
    • Managing donor databases and ensuring accurate records of donations, including tax exemption receipts.
    • Supporting projects such as charity shops and jumble sales to secure funds.
    • Identifying and securing new opportunities with corporates, trusts, and donors.

    2. Senior Child and Youth Care Workers

    These positions are based at the organization’s residential facilities in Sea Cow Lake and Sherwood. The role focuses on providing top-tier care and support to children, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing and safe environment. This full-time role offers a cost-to-company salary of R6,439.06.

    Key Requirements

    The ideal candidate should possess:

    • An NQF Level 4 qualification in Child and Youth Care.
    • Registration or provisional registration with the SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions).
    • Working knowledge of norms and standards as per the Children’s Act.
    • Previous experience in child and youth care facilities.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

    Core Responsibilities

    The role involves:

    • Ensuring the norms and standards at the facilities are met.
    • Providing care in the best interest of the children and acting as a mentor to junior care workers.
    • Supporting children with nurturing care while promoting an environment of trust and safety.
    • Improving the overall performance and quality of care at the Child and Youth Care Centre.
    • Assisting with compliance to policies and procedures related to residential care.
