    What is Workplace-Based Learning (WPBL)?

    Workplace-Based Learning is all about giving students a chance to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world job settings. It connects the college, students, and employers to create opportunities that benefit everyone. By working in actual companies, students gain hands-on experience, build their skills, and boost their employability.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Marketing WPBL Opportunities: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to create workplace opportunities for students.
    2. Administration: Handle all paperwork and coordination related to workplace-based learning.
    3. Student Readiness: Facilitate sessions that prepare students for real workplace environments.
    4. Student Placement: Place academically successful students in suitable companies based on strategic goals.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Senior Certificate (Matric) or NQF Level 4 Certificate
    • At least one year experience in student placement, recruitment, marketing, public relations, or project management
    • Knowledge of the TVET sector and SETAs
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills
    • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
    • Computer literacy
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Ability to work well in a team and facilitate sessions
    • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills

    Recommended Qualifications & Experience

    • Post-matric qualification in one of the following fields:
      • Human Resource Management
      • Marketing Management
      • Management Assistant
      • Public Relations
    • Experience in student placement and project coordination
    • Knowledge of the TVET environment
    • Multilingual candidates will have an advantage
