    Legal Aid SA, a leading National Public Entity in South Africa, is calling for applications for an exciting Client Call Centre job opportunity.     Legal Aid SA plays a crucial role in South Africa’s constitutional democracy, providing critical legal assistance to those who cannot afford it.     Responsibilities

    As a Paralegal in the Client Call Centre, you will be at the frontline, interacting with clients who need assistance or have concerns about legal matters. Your primary responsibilities will include:

    1. Responding to Client Inquiries: You will provide immediate responses to client telephone calls, answering queries, addressing complaints, and providing advice or guidance on how to resolve legal issues. You will assist clients in navigating their legal concerns, ensuring they understand their rights and options.
    2. Record Keeping: Accurately logging client calls and maintaining detailed records of the issues and actions taken during each call is vital. Proper documentation is essential to ensure efficient follow-ups and seamless service delivery.
    3. Client Guidance: You will work to understand the client’s concerns fully and advise them on the best legal practices for resolving their issues. Whether it’s general legal advice or referring the client to the appropriate department for further legal support, your role will be pivotal in ensuring clients get the help they need.
    4. Follow-Up: You will maintain follow-up systems to ensure that all client matters are resolved in a timely manner. This includes keeping concise file notes and adhering to a strict timeline for follow-up actions, especially for unresolved issues.
    5. Client Feedback: As part of ensuring that the legal services are of the highest quality, you will be required to call clients and gather feedback on the services they received. This feedback is essential for maintaining and improving the quality of services offered by Legal Aid SA.

    Required Competencies

    To succeed in this role, you must possess certain skills, knowledge, and attributes, including:

    • Matric and Paralegal Qualification: A National Senior Certificate (Matric) is required, along with a Diploma in Paralegal or Legal Assistant qualification.
    • Computer Literacy: You should be proficient in using computers and office software for record keeping, correspondence, and managing client data.
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Afrikaans, and other South African languages are essential for interacting with a diverse range of clients.
    • Attention to Detail: You must be meticulous in your work, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and all client matters are followed up appropriately.
    • Driving License (Advantageous): A valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license is an advantage but not mandatory.
    • Relationship Management: The ability to relate to clients at all levels, whether dealing with a simple inquiry or a more complex legal matter.

    Salary and Benefits

    The basic salary for this position is R255,450.00 per annum at Level 6, in addition to a range of benefits offered by Legal Aid SA. This competitive salary reflects the importance of the role and the responsibilities it entails.
