    Job Purpose

    As a Community Development Worker, you will play a key role in connecting the community with government services. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assisting communities in accessing government services
    • Identifying community needs and reporting them to relevant government departments
    • Promoting public participation in policy-making and service delivery
    • Strengthening community networks to enhance service delivery
    • Compiling reports on community issues and progress
    • Staying updated on government services and access mechanisms

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification)
    • At least six months of relevant experience
    • Proven computer literacy (MS Office)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Recommended Additional Qualifications

    • Community Development Learnership Certificate
    • Valid Code B (or higher) driving license (People with disabilities who have reasonable access to transport may also apply)

    Salary and Benefits

    • Annual Salary: R 255 450 (Salary Level 6)
    • Additional Benefits: Medical assistance, housing allowance, pension fund contributions, and other benefits as per government regulations

    Key Competencies Required

    Successful candidates should have:

    • Knowledge of community structures and their functioning
    • Understanding of government policies and legislation
    • Ability to facilitate public participation in policy-making and service delivery
    • Strong project organization, interpersonal, and report-writing skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage timelines effectively
