    The City of Cape Town has announced an exciting job opening for the position of Content Creator in its Events and Film Department under the Directorate of Safety and Security. This position is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals in media, journalism, and related fields to contribute to the city’s vibrant film and events sector.

    • Salary: Basic salary of R551,879 per annum

    Requirements

    • Educational Background: Diploma or first degree in Media, Journalism, Film, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations.
    • Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in content creation or related fields.
    • Skills:
      • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
      • Computer literacy.
      • Proven ability to develop clear and engaging content across multiple platforms.
    • Additional Requirements:
      • Valid Code B driver’s license.
      • Willingness to work outside regular hours and travel when necessary.
      • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
      • Experience in the film industry is advantageous.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Content Creator, the candidate will be instrumental in achieving the City’s Integrated Development Plan and strategic objectives through quality content creation and strategic communication. The key performance areas include:

    1. Content Development
      • Produce clear and engaging content for platforms such as websites, newsletters, blogs, and marketing materials.
      • Lead the creation of videos, infographics, and articles.
    2. Strategic Planning
      • Contribute to communication and marketing strategies targeting specific audiences within the film sector.
      • Develop campaigns aligned with the City’s Film Strategy to enhance Cape Town’s position as a global Film City.
    3. Research and Monitoring
      • Conduct thorough research to support City-supported film projects.
      • Implement monitoring systems for digital platforms, including social media and websites.
    4. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting
      • Compile quarterly and annual reviews on media and marketing activities.
      • Ensure timely responses to public complaints.
      • Contribute to business plans and departmental reports.
