    Minimum Requirements:

    • A Master of Arts / Master of Science (NQF level 9) in Counselling Psychology.
    • Registration with the HPCSA as an Intern Psychologist.
    • Minimum of one (1) year counselling skills experience at Psychology Master’s level.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Psychometric & Psychological Assessments: Conduct psychometric and psychological assessments of children, adolescents, and adults using HPCSA recognized instruments.
    • Counselling and/or Psychotherapy: Provide counselling and psychotherapy services to clients.
    • Trauma, HIV, Psycho-Legal & Community Matters: Address issues related to trauma, HIV, psycho-legal matters, and community concerns through psychological interventions.
    • Internship Training Programme and Supervision: Participate in and contribute to the internship training programme, including supervision of interns.
    • Ethical and Professional Matters: Adhere to ethical standards and handle professional matters in accordance with relevant guidelines.
    • Practice Management and Entrepreneurial Matters: Manage clinical practice efficiently and engage in entrepreneurial activities related to counselling psychology.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Psychological Assessment: Proficiency in conducting psychological assessments using HPCSA recognized psychometric instruments.
    • Case Presentations and Group Discussions: Ability to conduct case presentations and participate in multidisciplinary group discussions.
    • Supervision: Attend and engage in individual and group supervision sessions on a weekly basis.
    • Research and Conceptualization: Conduct client-focused research and theoretical conceptualization relevant to diagnostic and therapeutic practices.
    • Administrative Responsibilities: Manage administrative tasks associated with psychological practice.
    • Language Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in relevant languages required for client communication.
    • Referent Letter Requirement: Essential to provide a referent letter from a Supervisor when applying.
    • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
