    The Department of Traditional Affairs Job Vacancies

    Deputy Director – Communications & Marketing

    • Ref No: 2023/10 Secretariat: National House of Traditional & Khoi-San Leaders
    • Salary: R811,560 per annum
    • Centre: Pretoria

    Summary of the requirements and qualifications

    • Degree in Communication and Marketing/Public Relations or equivalent (NQF 6/7)
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Assistant Director in Communications, Marketing & Public Relations
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Core Competencies: Advanced marketing skills, language proficiency, report and speech writing, research methodology, organising and planning skills, advanced communication skills, negotiation skills, programme and management skills
    • Technical competencies: Marketing and communications, knowledge of communication processes and policies, government and traditional leadership protocol processes, PFMA, Supply Chain Management

    Summary of Duties

    • Manage implementation and maintenance of marketing and public relations strategies
    • Conduct research and develop marketing and public relations strategies
    • Coordinate marketing campaigns and public events
    • Promote the NHTKL brand and corporate identity
    • Manage audio-visual services and quality of pictorial material

     

    IT Technician

    • Ref No: 2023/11 (12 Months Contract)
    • Salary: R359,517 per annum, plus 37% in lieu of benefits
    • Centre: Pretoria

    Summary of the requirements and qualifications

    • National Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems or equivalent (NQF 6/7)
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in ICT
    • Core Competencies: Diagnostic and problem-solving skills, communication skills, organisation and time management, computer skills, interpersonal skills
    • Technical competencies: Hardware troubleshooting, Microsoft desktop operating systems and software, diverse computer systems and networks, internet security and data privacy principles, transversal systems

    Summary of Duties

    • Install and maintain computer systems and networks
    • Provide technical support to end-users
    • Ensure a reliable and stable network environment
    • Perform periodic maintenance and updates
    • Maintain service records

     

    Payments Officer

    • Ref No: 2023/12
    • Salary: R241,485 per annum

    • Grade 12 Certificate with finance or accounting subjects
    • Relevant experience in Finance and Supply Chain Management
    • Core Competencies: Problem-solving, client orientation, communication skills
    • Technical competencies: Supply Chain Management processes, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA), LOGIS and BAS, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Ensure timely settlement of payments to service providers
    • Capture and reconcile payments on relevant systems
    • Manage supplier information and communication
    • Provide support to the National House of Traditional & Khoi-San Leaders

     

    Registry Clerk

    • Salary: R202,233 per annum
    • Centre: Cape Town

    Summary of the requirements and qualifications

    • Grade 12 Certificate
    • 2-3 years’ experience in records management
    • Core Competencies: Basic numeracy, computer literacy, information gathering, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, organisation and time management, routine tasks, interpersonal relations, working with sensitive information
    • Technical competencies: Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS) Act, National Archives and Records Act, records and archives management, office administration processes and systems

    Summary of Duties

    • Maintain filing system and records
    • Manage the flow of mail and documents
    • Manage sensitive documents
    • Provide clerical support as needed

     

    Administrative Assistant – Legal Services

    • Ref No: 2023/14
    • Salary: R202,233 per annum
    • Centre: Pretoria

    Summary of the requirements and qualifications

    • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
    • Certificate in Office Management/Secretarial Studies
    • Minimum 1-year experience in office management and administration
    • Additional post-Matric qualification in legal administration is advantageous
    • Core Competencies: Client orientation, communication (written and verbal), honesty and integrity, planning and organising, telephone etiquette, computer literacy
    • Technical competencies: Office management, secretarial functions, general administration

    Summary of Duties

    • Develop and manage an efficient filing system and document flow
    • Provide secretarial support to the Head of Legal Services
    • Coordinate meetings and prepare documentation
    • Provide administrative support services such as logistics, communication management, and inventory management
