The Film Coordinator will be tasked with overseeing film projects, liaising with industry stakeholders, and ensuring the effective execution of film initiatives that contribute to the city’s cultural and creative development.

    Job Purpose:

    • To support the Durban Film Office (DFO) in establishing Durban as a premier destination for on-location filming.
    • Promote Durban’s film facilities and services to diverse audiences.
    • Position the DFO as the central hub for all film-related information in Durban.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Management: Assist in developing and managing annual film services programs in alignment with the Durban Film Office Business Plan.
    • Information Management: Maintain internal systems for disseminating comprehensive information on filming locations, permit requirements, policies, and general production details.
    • Service Coordination: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Durban Film Office’s service offerings.
    • Policy Development: Contribute to policy formulation and relationship management to support the film office’s goals.
    • Data Monitoring: Monitor, analyze, and report on film, TV, animation, and commercial production data across eThekwini Municipality.
    • Administrative Duties: Handle administrative and reporting tasks related to performance and result indicators.

    • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Public Administration, Public Management, or a related field.

    • 3 years of relevant experience in the Film Industry.
    • Computer literacy.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Degree (NQF Level 7) in Public Administration, Public Management, or a related field.
    • 4 years of relevant experience in the Film Industry.
