    Job Purpose:

    • Objective: The Finance Intern will support the Gauteng Partnership Fund (GPF) Finance Team with various general finance tasks.
    • Exposure: Interns will gain practical experience in day-to-day financial processes including Accounts Payable, Cashbook Reconciliation, and departmental administration.
    • Experience Requirement: No prior relevant work experience is needed.

    Requirements:

    • Inherent Requirements:
      • Technical Competencies: High attention to detail, proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, logical problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
      • Leadership Competencies: Ability to work under pressure, manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and adhere to deadlines.

    • Appointment Requirements:
      • Educational Qualification: BCom or National Diploma in Accounting or Finance (NQF Level 6 or 7).
      • Experience: No prior experience required; in-service training experience will be considered.

    Key Performance Areas:

    1. Accounts Payable:
      • Assist in capturing transactions in the accounting system.
      • Ensure accurate and timely recording of cash claim expenditures.
      • Help prepare and process payments through the banking system.
    2. Cash Books:
      • Assist with processing entries on bank accounts, such as payment runs, bank charges, and interest.
      • Contribute to the preparation of bank reconciliations.
      • Upload bank statements for all accounts onto the Intranet.
    3. Petty Cash Claims:
      • Accurately and timely capture petty cash expenditures.
      • Participate in investigating outstanding claims and processing new petty cash applications.
    4. Economic Development & BEE Reporting:
      • Assist in preparing quarterly Economic Development (ED) reports and compiling data.
      • Help prepare data and select samples for BEE audits.
    5. Teamwork:
      • Collaborate effectively with team members.
      • Be proactive in assisting others.
      • Contribute to business unit meetings and brainstorming sessions.
      • Mentor and support fellow interns and peers.
    6. Ad Hoc Duties:
      • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
      • Complete assignments from the CEO and CFO as needed.
