Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Bachelors Degree/ NQF Level 7 qualification in Financial Management as recognised by SAQA coupled with 3 years supervisory experience in a financial management environment and a valid Drivers Licence.
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have: Sound knowledge of procurement and payments systems, policies and procedures;
  • Sound knowledge of PFMA and Treasury Regulations, SCM and other prescripts;
  • Function knowledge of BAS;
  • Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations;
  • Labour Relations Act;
  • Good planning, decision making and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to develop the unit into a team;
  • Numeracy skills;
  • Report writing;
  • Financial Management;
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written) with colleagues, management, Treasury and suppliers;
  • Good computer literacy in MS Office (Ms Word and Ms Excel); must be prepared to drive official vehicles.

Duties

  • The successful candidate will be required to manage creditor management services with the following responsibilities: Manage the receiving and recording of valid invoices;
  • Manage the payment of suppliers within 30 days;
  • Manage financial reconciliations and reporting;
  • Manage resources of the unit.

  • All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
