Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must be in possession of a National Diploma/ NQF Level 6 qualification in Human Resource Management/Development/Skills Development as recognised by SAQA coupled with at least 1-2 years of experience in an HRM&D environment, experience in Bursaries will be an added advantage and a valid Drivers Licence.
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Required: The successful candidate must have:- Sound knowledge and understanding of Policies, Legislation and Prescripts pertaining to the Human Resource Development field;
  • Public Service Education and Training Strategies;
  • Education and Training Structures;
  • Financial Management;
  • Practical demonstration of knowledge in the Human Resource Development field;
  • Finance;
  • Project Management;
  • Planning;
  • Decision Making;
  • Problem Solving;
  • Conflict Management;
  • Staff Development;
  • Diversity Management;
  • Presentation Skills;
  • Customer Orientation;
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written) with other Government Institutions, Private Sector, NGOs and Departmental Officials;
  • Good computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Candidates must be able and willing to drive.

Duties

  • The successful candidate will be required to coordinate bursaries and study assistance programmes with the following responsibilities: Administer State Aided Studies/Bursaries for the department;
  • Provide for the administration of bursary matters;
  • Develop, implement and maintain bursary/study assistance programme policies;
  • Administer bursary/study assistance programme payments.

  • All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment, the logistics of which will be communicated by the Department.
  • All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
