Requirements
- Abet level 2 certificate or equivalent.
- Competencies: Working knowledge and understanding of the following: Rearing ostrich chicks;
- General farm work;
- General routine activities with regards to infrastructure;
- Perform routine activities in respect of livestock;
- Perform routine activities in respect of plant production;
- Handling of ostriches;
- Research techniques;
- Cleaning routine activities in respect of infrastructure: Skills in the following: Communication skills (written and verbal);
- Numeracy;
- Literacy;
- Operating equipment;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Perform general activities in respect of livestock: Care for sick livestock, dipping, vaccination and dosing;
- Perform general activities which would: Cleaning of facilities, disposal of farm waste material;
- Perform general activities in respect of infrastructure: Maintain fences, pipelines, canals, dams, drinking troughs, animal housing; building;
- Maintain water supply system.
