High Court Legal Practitioner Job Description
The High Court Legal Practitioner – Criminal role is a permanent position based at the Mthatha Local Office. The successful candidate will represent indigent accused persons in complex criminal High Court cases, mentor Candidate Attorneys, and contribute to administrative and legal responsibilities within the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal representation for indigent accused persons in High Court cases.
- Handle complex criminal matters at the High Court level.
- Train and supervise Candidate Attorneys to develop future legal talent.

Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies Required

Qualifications
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate (Advocates must have completed pupillage at a recognised institution).
- Possess an LLB degree.

Experience
- A minimum of seven years’ post-qualification experience, of which at least five years must be post-admission experience.
- At least four years of High Court experience or a minimum of six years in Regional Court practice.
- Proven expertise in handling criminal matters at the High Court level.
