The Centre for Public Service and Innovation (CPSI) is offering an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to apply for the position of Human Resource Clerk. This role provides a unique chance to contribute to the efficiency and reform of South Africa’s public service.


    Human Resource Clerk Job Overview

    • Position: Human Resource Clerk
    • Reference Number: 0004/2024
    • Salary: R255,450 per annum (Level 6) with the potential for annual progression, subject to performance.
    • Location: Pretoria, Arcadia
    • Closing Date: 23 December 2024 at 12h00

    About CPSI

    The Centre for Public Service and Innovation (CPSI) is a dynamic government component focused on reform and transformation in public service through innovation. Reporting to the Minister for Public Service and Administration, CPSI drives:

    • Innovation Culture: Promoting innovative practices in public service.
    • Advisory and Research: Providing independent and forward-looking advice to enhance public service transformation.
    • Partnerships and Projects: Managing sustainable innovation projects in collaboration with private and public stakeholders.

    Key Requirements

    To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Experience: 3–5 years in human resource management.
    • Knowledge Areas:
      • Public Service Policy Frameworks
      • Public Service Act and Regulations
      • Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
      • Labour Relations Act
      • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
      • PERSAL System proficiency
    • Skills:
      • Computer literacy
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
      • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
      • Ability to work in a team and take initiative

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will:

    • Administration of Employee Conditions: Handle processes such as leave administration, housing allowances, and leave inquiries.
    • Recruitment Support: Act as an HR representative during recruitment and selection processes.
    • PERSAL System: Capture and manage transactions on the PERSAL system.
    • Payroll Administration: Manage payroll records and distribute monthly reports to the finance department.
    • Performance Management: Assist with performance management processes and personnel skill development plans.
    • Policy Implementation: Provide guidance on HRM-related policies and ensure adherence.
    • Inquiry Management: Address internal and external inquiries efficiently.

    • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
    • Capable of delivering quality work under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Able to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
