Key Requirements
To apply for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- An R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Post-basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with the SANC (mandatory).
- Experience:
- A minimum of four (4) years of recognizable experience after registration with SANC in General Nursing.
- Skills:
- Teaching and mentoring ability.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer technology to support educational programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and diverse cultural environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will undertake the following roles:
- Academic Duties:
- Plan, develop, and implement academic programs.
- Design, review, and evaluate nursing curricula.
- Deliver lectures, mentor students, and supervise research projects.
- Conduct nursing research and contribute to policy development.
- Student Support:
- Provide remedial programs to enhance student performance.
- Supervise and assess students in clinical settings.
- Monitor attendance and manage student discipline.
- Counsel students and provide career guidance.
- Clinical Support:
- Schedule and accompany students to clinical placements.
