    Messenger in Office Services offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic workplace environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong attention to detail, reliability, and enthusiasm for providing essential office support.


    Messenger Office Services Overview:

    • Salary: The annual salary for this position is R131,265 (Level 02).
    • Location: The position is based in Gqeberha.
    • Reference: REF NO: DPWI 159/05/2024

    Messenger Office Services Requirements:

    • Possess a Grade 10 qualification.
    • Hold a valid driver’s license.
    • Have seven to ten months of driving experience.
    • Knowledge of Public Service Regulations
    • Proficiency in problem-solving skills
    • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
    • Strong interpersonal relations
    • Planning and execution abilities
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Reliability in handling tasks
    • Commitment to maintaining high levels of confidentiality
    • Teamwork orientation
    • Proficiency in driving skills
    • Competent in computer skills

    Messenger Office Services Duties:

    • Provide efficient messenger services within the department.
    • Collect and deliver mail to and from the Post Office and other postal/courier services.
    • Sort and distribute mail and documents from various institutional components.
    • Collect and deliver documentation and related items within the department or to other departments.
    • Maintain a register of documentation received and delivered.
    • Distribute internal, departmental, and national circulars as required.
    • Ensure acknowledgment of receipt for parcels, mail, correspondence, and circulars delivered.
    • Prepare packages and parcels for dispatch by courier or postal service.
    • Assist with copying, shredding, and binding of documents as needed.
    • Perform any other duties assigned within the registry or department.

    Messenger Office Services Application process:

    • Applications can be submitted via postal mail to The Head of Department: Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs; Private Bag X0035, Bhisho, 5605.
    • Alternatively, applications can be hand-delivered to the Cooperative Governance & Traditional Affairs Foyer at Tyamzashe Building, Phalo Avenue in Bhisho.
    • Applications can also be submitted electronically through the provincial e-recruitment system.
    • The provincial e-recruitment system is accessible at https://ecprov.gov.za and/or at https://erecruitment.ecotp.gov.za.
    • The e-recruitment system operates 24/7 and closes at 23:59 on the closing date.
    • For e-recruitment enquiries, applicants should email ecruitment@eccogta.gov.za with their ID Number, Profile email Address, and details of the issue.
    • Do not send CVs to the e-recruitment email; doing so will result in the CV being considered lost and not considered.

    Additional Information:

    • Applicants are required to submit a fully completed and signed Z83 form along with a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
    • The Z83 form is not currently downloadable or signable in the e-recruitment system; applicants who apply through this system will not be disqualified for an unsigned Z83 but will be required to sign it on the interview day.
    • Shortlisted candidates must submit certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents to HR before the interview date.
    • Candidates with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) before the interview.
    • Failure to submit all required documents will lead to disqualification of the application.
    • Correspondence will only be conducted with short-listed candidates.
    • Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted within six (6) months after the closing date.
    • Selected candidates will undergo a personnel suitability check including criminal record, citizenship, financial/asset record, qualification/study, and previous employment verification.
    • Successful candidates will undergo security clearance processes.
    • Where applicable, candidates may be required to undergo a skills/knowledge test.
    • Successful candidates will be appointed on a probation period of twelve (12) months.
    • Misrepresentation in application documents will result in automatic disqualification and possible disciplinary action if the candidate has already been appointed.
    • The department aims to achieve Employment Equity goals, focusing on equitable representation across race and gender.
    • Gender equity and inclusion of people living with disabilities will be prioritized in the appointment process.
