    Newcastle Municipality has announced several exciting job opportunities for qualified candidates in the Budget & Treasury Office. These positions range from managerial roles to junior administration officers, offering competitive remuneration and career development prospects.


    List of Newcastle Municipality Vacancies

    1. Manager: Logistics and Expenditure (Post ID: BTO3020)

    Department: Budget & Treasury Office
    Remuneration: R670,484.87 per annum (Task Grade 16)
    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Grade 12/Matric
    • National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Procurement
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • A valid Driver’s License
    • 5 years of relevant experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    This role involves coordinating the logistical functions and expenditure systems within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) of the municipality. Responsibilities include:

    • Functional Coordination: Develop and implement SCM procedures, align information systems and processes, and provide guidance to personnel.
    • Supervision and Control: Monitor personnel performance, provide on-the-job training, and resolve workplace conflicts.
    • Supply Chain Management: Oversee demand analysis, procurement, contractual agreements, and disposal of assets.

    You will be tasked with ensuring that SCM policies are compliant with legislative requirements, while promoting fairness and transparency in the procurement process.

    2. Junior Admin Officer x2 (Post IDs: BTO3018 & BTO3019)

    Department: Budget & Treasury Office
    Remuneration: R278,707.04 per annum (Task Grade 10)
    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma in SCM, Logistics, or Procurement
    • Computer literacy in MS Office
    • 2 years of relevant experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Junior Admin Officer will assist in the administration and operational duties of the SCM department, ensuring all processes are aligned with municipal policies. Responsibilities include:

    • Ensuring the correct submission of vendor applications and capturing vendor details in the financial system.
    • Assisting with audits and ensuring regulatory frameworks for procurement are adhered to.
    • Monitoring the delivery of goods and managing contract-related documentation.

    This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of Newcastle Municipality’s SCM system.

    3. SCM Practitioner (Tender and Quotations) (Post ID: BTO3030)

    Department: Budget & Treasury Office
    Remuneration: R458,749.97 per annum (Task Grade 13)
    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • 4 years of relevant experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    This role involves managing the tender and quotation process within Newcastle Municipality’s SCM department. Key duties include:

    • Bid Evaluation: Write minutes for Bid Adjudication and Evaluation Committees and coordinate bid processes with user departments.
    • Procurement Process: Manage bids, ensure technical evaluations are completed, and handle the administration of awarded bids.
    • Reporting: Prepare monthly reports on bid progress and ensure compliance with municipal procurement policies.

    The SCM Practitioner ensures that all procurement activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, promoting fair competition.
