    The Department of Roads and Transport is offering a fantastic opportunity for young South African graduates through its Internship Programme in Land Acquisition & Support. This position is perfect for graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in real estate, property studies, and property management. If you have recently completed your studies in a related field and are eager to launch your career in public service, this could be the ideal starting point for you.

    • Contract Duration: 24 months

    This internship is open to unemployed South African graduates who meet the required academic qualifications. Applicants should note that only one candidate will be selected for the post, so make sure your application stands out!

    Eligibility Requirements

    To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    1. Educational Qualifications:
      • National Diploma, B-Tech, or Degree in Real Estate, BSc Property Studies, or Property Management.
    2. Additional Requirements:
      • Applicants must be South African citizens.
      • Candidates must be unemployed graduates.
      • Applicants should not have participated in any other internship programme within the Republic of South Africa.
    3. Preference for Underrepresented Groups:
      • The department encourages applicants from underrepresented racial, gender, and disability groups. Special consideration will be given to applicants whose transfer, promotion, or appointment will promote representation in line with the department’s Employment Equity Plan.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Successful candidates will be expected to complete all tasks assigned to them within the Land Acquisition & Support team under the Directorate of Design Services. As an intern, you will receive guidance and mentorship while also being entrusted with real-world responsibilities that will prepare you for a career in the public service sector.

    Application Process

    To apply for this internship, applicants must follow these steps carefully:

    1. Complete the Z83 Form:
      • Applicants must use the latest Z83 application form, which is available from any Public Service Department or on the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) website www.dpsa.gov.za/documents.
      • Ensure that all fields in the Z83 form are completed accurately and signed.
    2. Submit Supporting Documents:
      • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
      • Qualifications (include copies of your qualification certificates).
      • Failure to attach these documents will result in disqualification.
    3. Additional Documents for Shortlisted Candidates:
      • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit certified copies of their qualifications (not older than 6 months).
      • A valid South African identity document.
      • A valid driver’s license (only if driving/traveling is a requirement for the job).
    4. Deadline for Submission:
      • Applications must be submitted before 25 April 2025. Be sure to submit all required documents by this date to avoid missing out on this opportunity.

    • The Department of Roads and Transport reserves the right not to appoint any candidate, and if you do not receive a response within three months, you can assume that your application was unsuccessful.
