Role Overview:
As the Project Manager: Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in the coordination and management of ICT projects at UNIZULU. This includes handling the Higher Education Institution’s (HDI) funded projects, ensuring the delivery of ICT services through a mature, project-based approach. This position requires not just technical know-how but also strong leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination and Management of ICT Projects: You will oversee the entire lifecycle of ICT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Training of Project Teams: Develop and deliver training programs on official project methodologies and related technologies to ensure your team is well-equipped to handle their tasks.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with various stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and that they are kept informed of project progress.
- Seamless Transfer of Projects: Ensure the smooth handover of projects to the support and service management teams.
- Support Ongoing ICT-enabled Business Transformation: Contribute to the continuous improvement and transformation of ICT-enabled business processes.
- Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to facilitate the successful adoption of new systems and processes.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial resources are used effectively.
- Reporting: Regularly report on project progress, risks, and issues to ensure transparency and accountability.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Background: A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in IT or a related field.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in managing large, complex projects, with at least two years focused on major ICT delivery projects.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in managing end-to-end ICT projects, particularly those involving data center civil works, fiber/electrical infrastructure upgrades, and live environment integration testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Higher Education environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the Health and Safety Act.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in communication, planning, organizing, troubleshooting, and people management.
- Analytical skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

Position 2: Manager: ICT Governance (Reference Number: 2024/08/IT02)

Role Overview:
The Manager: ICT Governance is responsible for ensuring that the ICT department operates in compliance with IT governance frameworks and standards. This role is critical in mitigating IT risks, managing business continuity, and ensuring that IT audit findings are resolved effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Governance Frameworks: Develop, implement, and manage ICT governance frameworks to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- IT Risk Management and Audit: Oversee IT risk management activities, including conducting audits and driving the resolution of audit findings.
- IT Compliance: Ensure the department adheres to all necessary compliance requirements.
- Incident and Response Management: Manage incidents and coordinate response efforts to minimize impact on operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular reports on governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities.
- Security Architecture and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of security measures to protect the university’s ICT infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Background: A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in IT or a related field.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in ICT governance or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in IT Governance (ITIL or COBIT) is highly desirable.
- Experience in a Higher Education environment is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to communicate GRC concepts effectively to various stakeholders.
- Experience in mapping business needs to technology solutions.
- Deep understanding of corporate governance principles and technical elements.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
