    Job Purpose:

    The Western Cape Government’s Department of Social Development seeks a qualified individual to provide corporate communication services.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree or higher qualification.
    • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

    Recommendation:

    • Experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
    • Proficiency in digital media and photography.
    • Valid code B (or higher) driver’s license.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Develop, monitor, and enhance the department’s corporate identity and brand.
    • Design and execute brand awareness campaigns.
    • Develop and implement communication campaigns and products.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to design and launch above-the-line communication campaigns.
    • Provide media liaison services.
    • Coordinate proactive media events in collaboration with the Media Liaison Officer in the MEC’s office.

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge of applicable policies, legislation, guidelines, and public service procedures.
    • Familiarity with communication policy and strategies.
    • Understanding of global, regional, and local political, economic, and social affairs affecting the PGWC.
    • Skills in events management and media liaison practices.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva applications, and MS Office.
    • Strong communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, organizational, analytical thinking, project management, and research skills.
    • Ability to interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures.
