    The University of the Free State (UFS) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for an exciting Work Integrated Learning Internship opportunity on the Bloemfontein campus. This 12-month contract internship is designed to provide workplace exposure, relevant job experience, coaching, mentoring, and both soft and technical skills training.


    Work Integrated Learning Internship Overview

    • Job Title: Work Integrated Learning Internship (40 hours per week) (Contract appointment: 12 months)
    • Job ID: 5807
    • Organizational Unit: University of the Free State -> Vice-Rector: Operations -> Human Resources
    • Contract Type: Contract
    • Occupational Level: Unskilled
    • Location: Bloemfontein Campus, Bloemfontein, FS ZA (Primary)
    • Closing Date: 1 July 2024
    • Salary/Stipend: R 6,000.00 per month.
    • Assumption of Duties: 1 August 2024 or as soon as possible.

    Work Integrated Learning Internship Programme Details

    What Does the Programme Entail?

    • Workplace Exposure: 12 months of hands-on experience in a professional setting.
    • Job Experience: Gain relevant experience to assist in completing your qualification.
    • Coaching and Mentoring: Ongoing guidance and support from experienced professionals.
    • Skills Training: Receive training in soft skills and technical areas relevant to your field of study.

    Minimum Requirements

    To be eligible for this Work Integrated Learning Internship, you should have:

    • Educational Confirmation: A letter from your higher education institution confirming the need for workplace exposure to complete your qualification.
    • Enrollment: Enrollment in a National Diploma on NQF Level 6 or a degree on NQF Level 7 in one of the following fields: Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Marketing and Communications, Human Resources, Business Studies, Public Relations, or Management Assistant.
    • Citizenship: South African citizen aged between 18 and 29.
    • No Prior Internship Experience: No previous internship experience.
    • Affidavit: Provide an affidavit confirming you are not enrolled in MICT SETA or any other SETA funded programme.
    • Residency: Reside in the Free State Province (Mangaung District Municipality).

    • Results-Oriented: Ability to adapt to changing environments, overcome obstacles, and fulfill obligations reliably and responsibly.
    • Strategic Thinking: Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to approach work systematically.

    • Building Coalitions: Ability to interact effectively with others and establish personal connections.
