    The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) is a dynamic organization offering exciting career opportunities in South Africa. Currently, there are three positions available: Payroll Specialist at the Head Office, Finance Clerk at the Head Office, and Project Administrator in Gauteng North. Below is a detailed overview of each position to help interested applicants understand the roles, responsibilities, and application processes.


    List of W&RSETA Job Opportunities

    1. Payroll Specialist: Head Office

    • Location: Head Office, Centurion
    • Grading: C3
    • Salary: R454,442 Total Cost to Company per annum
    • Reporting to: Senior Manager: HR

    Role Purpose

    The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll administration, compliance with statutory regulations, and efficient management of employee remuneration and benefits.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate employee database systems.
    • Prepare and process employment contracts, offer letters, and agreements.
    • Manage payroll instructions for monthly payroll runs (appointments, terminations, etc.).
    • Collaborate with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to controls.
    • Resolve employee queries related to payroll and benefits.
    • Generate reports and maintain payroll records for audits.
    • Administer leave management in line with company policy.
    • Liaise with service providers (e.g., SAGE) for system updates.
    • Prepare and submit SARS reports on time.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • National Diploma in Human Resource Management.
    • 5 years of payroll administration experience.
    • Knowledge of SAGE People 300.
    • Certificate in Payroll Administration and Management.

    2. Finance Clerk: Head Office

    • Location: Head Office, Centurion
    • Grading: C1
    • Salary: R297,062 Total Cost to Company per annum
    • Reporting to: Supervisor Accountant

    Role Purpose

    The Finance Clerk ensures the accurate and timely processing of financial documentation and compliance with policies and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Process invoices in compliance with standard operating procedures.
    • Accurately capture invoices for payments to suppliers and service providers.
    • Match invoices against the orders database and send remittance advices.
    • Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations of creditors’ accounts.
    • Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
    • Generate ad hoc financial reports as required.
    • Adhere to W&RSETA policies and relevant legislation.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, or Cost Accounting.
    • 2 years of financial administration experience.
    • Proficiency in financial systems and Excel.

    3. Project Administrator: Gauteng North

    • Location: Gauteng North
    • Grading: B4
    • Salary: R219,292 Total Cost to Company per annum
    • Reporting to: Senior Project Specialist

    Role Purpose

    The Project Administrator provides effective administrative support to ensure accurate records, compliance, and efficient stakeholder communication.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain and organize records for easy accessibility.
    • Verify submissions and contracts for completeness.
    • Compile accurate claims and prepare documents for moderation.
    • Capture learner information and track progress on the system.
    • Support stakeholders with documentation submissions.
    • Resolve queries and ensure stakeholders are updated.
    • Assist with internal and external audits.
    • Adhere to corporate governance and SETA values.
    • Manage ad hoc projects efficiently.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric with National Diploma in Public Administration/Management.
    • 2-3 years of administrative experience.
    • Strong knowledge of administration practices.
