    The South Cape TVET College, under the Department of Higher Education and Training, is inviting applications for a variety of job opportunities as listed in the External Vacancy List 08 of 2024. These positions are based across multiple campuses including George, Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay, Knysna, Beaufort West, Bitou, and Hessequa.


    South Cape TVET College Jobs

    1. Assistant Director: Partnership and Linkages (SL10)

    Ref: PS 22/2024
    Salary: R552 081.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Central Office, George

    Requirements:

    • Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate plus an appropriate Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7/8) in Business Development, Administration, Management, Marketing, or Public Relations Management.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in stakeholder liaison, business management, research, and partnerships, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Monitoring and evaluation, strategic management, conflict management, budgeting, financial planning, project management, quality service delivery, and innovation.
    • Computer skills (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook).
    • Good interpersonal relations, negotiation, people management, client orientation, and customer focus.

    Duties:

    • Conduct environmental scanning for new business opportunities.
    • Develop project funding proposals and form partnerships with industries.
    • Research funders and projects, negotiate and facilitate agreements, and oversee project implementation.
    • Coordinate development and maintenance of local and international partnerships.
    • Source funding for occupational programmes and manage donor and fundraising activities.

    2. Assistant Director: Supply Chain Management (SL9)

    Ref: PS23/2024
    Salary: R444 036.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Central Office, George

    Requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12 plus a minimum 3-year accredited Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Financial Management (NQF 7/8).
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Administrative skills, financial planning and management, report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Project management, budgeting, and supply chain management.
    • Client service focus, integrity, commitment, and proactive approach.

    Duties:

    • Develop, review, implement, and monitor college SCM policies.
    • Ensure compliance with SCM policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate quotation and bidding processes.
    • Manage asset registers and ensure accurate records of assets.

    3. Assistant Director: Marketing and Communication (SL9)

    Salary: R444 036.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Central Office

    Requirements:

    • Matric/NC(V) Level 4 plus an accredited 3-year Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Corporate Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.
    • Graphic design knowledge is an advantage.

    Skills:

    • Strategic execution, stakeholder management, digital marketing, event management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, website and social media experience.

    Duties:

    • Develop and implement marketing strategies.
    • Coordinate marketing and communication projects and events.
    • Manage media relations and social media pages.
    • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys.

    4. Student Entrepreneurship Coordinator (SL9)

    Ref: PS 25/2024
    Salary: R444 036.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Central Office, George

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12/National Senior Certificate/National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Equivalent at Level 4 plus a recognized three-year National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management, Business Management, Office Management and Technology, Marketing Management, or related qualification.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
    • Advanced management development program certificate is an advantage.

    Skills:

    • Policy development, office management, public management, financial management, report writing, and communication.

    Duties:

    • Manage the implementation of college strategies and policies on entrepreneurship.
    • Identify new student entrepreneurial opportunities.
    • Coordinate student entrepreneurship support and development programs.
    • Mentor and coach students in entrepreneurship.

    5. Programme Manager: Early Childhood Development (Occupational) (SL8) x2

    Ref: PS27/2024
    Salary: R376 413.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Oudtshoorn and George Delivery Sites

    Requirements:

    • Matric plus a minimum 3-year relevant and recognized Degree/Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Early Childhood Development.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience within the ECD work environment.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.
    • Professional qualification as an Assessor and/or Moderator.

    Skills:

    • Managerial and administrative experience, statistical analysis, program management, and report writing.

    Duties:

    • Manage and facilitate the implementation of occupational programmes.
    • Liaise with business and industry for student placement.
    • Oversee administration tasks related to assessments and moderation.

    6. Programme Manager: Engineering Occupational Programmes (SL8)

    Salary: R376 413.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Mossel Bay

    Requirements:

    • Matric plus a minimum 3-year recognized Degree/Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Engineering Studies, Electrical or Automotive Mechanic, or a Red Seal Artisan.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant teaching experience.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Managerial and administrative experience, report writing, communication, and program management.

    Duties:

    • Plan and manage lecturing tasks.
    • Develop learning materials and assessment tools.
    • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.

    7. Programme Manager: Bricklaying (CoS) (SL8)

    Salary: R376 413.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Mossel Bay

    Requirements:

    • Matric plus a minimum 3-year relevant and recognized Degree/Diploma (NQF Level 6/7) in Engineering in Civil/Construction or an Artisan qualification in Bricklaying.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience in Bricklaying facilitation.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Managerial and administrative experience, program management, and report writing.

    Duties:

    • Manage and facilitate the implementation of occupational programmes.
    • Liaise with business and industry for student placement.
    • Oversee administration tasks related to assessments and moderation.

    8. Senior Administrative Officer: Council Secretariat (SL8)

    Salary: R376 413.00 per annum plus 37% service in lieu of benefits
    Centre: Central Office, George

    Requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12 plus an accredited minimum 3-year Recognized Degree/Diploma in the field of Public Management, Office Management, Secretarial Diploma, Governance or Office Administration.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant working experience with Board Members, Committees members and Governance structure in a secretarial or administrative function.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Good listening and writing skills, good interpersonal relations and customer orientation, organizing and planning skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of the Higher Education and Training communication protocols.

    Duties:

    • Manage the interface between the Council and the College management.
    • Provide secretarial functions for the Council and its sub-committees.
    • Ensure corporate governance best practices.
    • Maintain proper records of council documentation and logistical arrangements.

    9. Marketing and Communication Officer (SL7) x2

    Salary: R308 154.00 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits
    Centre: George/Mossel Bay Campus

    Requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12 plus a minimum 3-year recognized Diploma/Degree (NQF6/REQV14) in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar and relevant field.
    • 2-3 years’ experience in Marketing and Communication environment.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Understanding the importance of brand guidelines, graphic design, student recruitment, journalism skills, administrative skills, planning and organizing, financial management, report writing, and interpersonal skills.

    Duties:

    • Communicate with external markets across the College’s catchment area through PR functions, career exhibitions, school visits, campus visits, and more.
    • Network with relevant role-players and stakeholders.
    • Facilitate external market research and generate new opportunities for recruitment.
    • Gather relevant news and compile articles for internal and external publications.

    10. Facilitator: General Education and Training Certificate: Wholesale & Retail Level 2 (SL7)

    Salary: R308 154.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Knysna

    Requirements:

    • Matric plus a minimum 3-year recognized Degree/Diploma in Business Studies (NQF 6) plus relevant post related knowledge and experience.
    • Qualified as a Facilitator, Assessor with Wholesale & Retail SETA.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Proficiency in English, computer literacy, wholesale and retail industry related experience, statistical analysis, timetabling skills, knowledge and teaching/facilitation experience, assessment, moderation, and verification processes.

    Duties:

    • Train students in the Wholesale and Retail environment.
    • Administer assessments and moderation.
    • Monitor and provide guidance to students.
    • Facilitate practical training and monitor learner progress.

    11. Facilitator: IT Technical Support (Occupational) (SL7)

    Salary: R308 154.00 per annum plus 37% service benefits
    Centre: Mossel Bay Campus

    Requirements:

    • Matric plus a relevant accredited minimum three-year qualification (Degree or Diploma (NQF Level 6/7) in Information Technology and Computer Science.
    • A professional qualification as an Assessor and/or Moderator is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within the TVET Sector with specific reference to the ICT field.
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license.

    Skills:

    • Good administrative skills, good communication skills (verbal and written), ability to assess and moderate, bilingual (ability to teach in English).

    Duties:

    • Facilitate a group of learners using teaching and learning methodologies in an ICT environment.
    • Plan and prepare lessons, formative and summative assessments.
    • Manage learners in the classroom.
    • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.

    12. Facilitators: Early Childhood Development x6

    Salary: R8 178.00 per month for Saturday classes, no service benefits
    Delivery Sites: Beaufort West, Bitou, George, Oudtshoorn, Hessequa, Mossel Bay

    Requirements:

    • Matric plus a minimum of a 3-year Early Childhood Development (ECD) qualification (Higher Certificate/National Diploma/Degree/B.ED Foundation Phase Degree) plus 1-3 years relevant experience in Early Childhood Development.
    • Proficiency in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages.

    Skills:

    • Energetic and dedicated to learner success, teaching/facilitation experience, ability to effectively communicate, experienced in working with students with learning difficulties, knowledge and experience in assessing different learning styles.

    Duties:

    • Facilitate the implementation of occupational programmes, SETA and QCTO accredited, across delivery sites.
    • Provide subject/practice-related guidance to learners.
    • Monitor and guide workplace practice.
    • Strict adherence to college and SETA evaluation processes.
