    Human Resource Clerk Job Description

    The role of Human Resource Clerk in Talent Sourcing is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the effective functioning of the Recruitment and Selection Directorate within the Department of the Premier. This position plays a key role in supporting the government’s hiring and recruitment processes, working in a team environment to ensure smooth administration and data management.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Human Resource Clerks in this role will:

    1. Liaise with Stakeholders: Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and support in the recruitment process.
    2. Database Management: Keep track of essential HR data, updating and managing databases accurately to maintain an organised record-keeping system.
    3. Expenditure Tracking: Assist in tracking and recording component expenditure, ensuring budget alignment.
    4. Reception Duties: Handle front-office tasks, welcoming visitors and managing correspondence.
    5. General Office Administration: Perform a variety of clerical tasks to support the office, such as filing, scheduling, and document handling.

    Minimum Requirements

    To apply, candidates must have:

    • Educational Qualification: A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or an equivalent qualification.

    Preferred Qualifications and Experience

    While not mandatory, the following will be advantageous:

    • Tertiary Education: A qualification in Human Resources or related fields.
    • Relevant Work Experience: Previous experience within a Human Resource or Recruitment setting, particularly experience with e-recruitment systems.
    • Driver’s License: A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.

    Essential Skills and Competencies

    Candidates should have:

    • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
    • Organisational Skills: Strong planning and organising skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Communication Abilities: Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with colleagues and external contacts.
    • Stress Management: Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Remuneration and Benefits

    This role offers a remuneration package of R 216,417 per annum (Salary Level 5). The position also includes service benefits and obligations for qualifying employees, covering areas such as medical and housing assistance, and pension-fund contributions, in line with applicable agreements.
