    The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport is currently hiring for several positions, with a strong focus on employment equity.     Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport Job Opportunities Available

    1. Tradesman Aid (Ref No: REFS/021872)

    • Branch: Department of Roads and Transport
    • Directorate: Construction Quality Assurance
    • Location: Koedoespoort, Pretoria
    • Salary: R155,148 per annum, plus benefits (Level 03)

    Requirements: Applicants must hold an NQF Level 2 qualification (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent) with six months of trade-related experience. Laboratory experience and computer literacy are advantageous.

    Duties: Responsibilities include performing laboratory tests on road construction materials, ensuring all laboratory equipment is verified according to ISO 17025 standards, maintaining cleanliness in the laboratory, assisting with field tests, and reporting faulty apparatus. This role supports the ongoing commitment to high-quality infrastructure standards in the Gauteng province.

    2. Groundsman (Ref No: REFS/021877) – Two Positions Available

    • Branch: Corporate Services
    • Directorate: Auxiliary Services
    • Locations: Temba DLTC and Mabopane DLTC
    • Salary: R131,265 per annum, plus benefits (Level 02)

    Requirements: Candidates should have an ABET or equivalent qualification and must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and within a team.

    Duties: Groundsmen are responsible for maintaining the premises and surroundings, including gardening, pruning, mowing grass, removing weeds, and applying insecticides. The role also involves cultivating the soil for plants and maintaining gardening equipment, which plays an essential part in creating and preserving pleasant, functional environments for the Department’s various facilities.
