Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48). -OR A4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A postgraduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Health Care Nursing.
  • Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1year post-basic qualification reflected as in the requirements above.
  • At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level.
  • Inherent requirement of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
  • Competencies (knowledge/skills): The ability to function independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team (Including the NPO sector).
  • Good interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Extensive knowledge with statistical data, financial management and contract Management.

Duties

  • Responsible for the Corporate and Clinical governs of the health facility (services and programs).
  • Responsible for implementing services delivery priorities iro clinical protocols, guidelines and SOP that address the Burden of Disease.
  • Responsible for Quality Assurance;
  • IDEAL Clinic implementation and infrastructure maintenance planning.
  • Management of human and physical resources and control of financial expenditure. -Involvement in training programmes in conjunction with Human Resource development and Training component.
  • Liaise with relevant role players ensuring an integrated service within the district.
  • Provide or assist with services within KESS facilities and across the Metro East Ecosystem in accordance with operational requirements and service delivery needs.
