    Position Overview

    The role of Administrative Officer at the Tshwane Metro Police Department falls under the Support and Administration division, specifically within the Administration Bureau Section.     Key Responsibilities

    As an Administrative Officer, the selected candidates will be tasked with performing a range of administrative duties essential to the department’s operations. This includes:

    • Processing admissions of guilt.
    • Filing and preparing court rolls.
    • Managing repayments and reconciling financial statements.
    • Capturing and processing AARTO notices (Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offenses).
    • Handling daily administrative tasks such as inquiries, cashier duties, and archiving.
    • Performing general administrative duties as required by departmental management.

    These responsibilities require a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. Administrative Officers will play a crucial role in ensuring the department’s operations are conducted in an organized and compliant manner.

    Job Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    To qualify for this position, candidates must have:

    • A Grade 12 certificate, which is the minimum educational requirement for the position.
    • Relevant experience in an administrative environment, which will be a key factor in determining suitability for the role.
    • Computer literacy, as the role involves using various software and systems for administrative functions.
    • NaTIS user registration is an added advantage for those involved in vehicle registration and licensing tasks.

    In addition, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • They should have no criminal record, excluding previous convictions related to political activities during the previous dispensation, and no pending criminal cases (awaiting trial).
    • Applicants must allow their fingerprints to be taken at their own cost.
    • Their names should not appear on the register for sexual offenders.
    • Candidates should be willing to be deployed anywhere within Tshwane as required by the department’s needs.
