    BOCMA focuses on sustainable and equitable integrated water resource management within the Breede-Olifants Water Management area in the Western Cape Province. If you are a highly motivated and creative individual with a passion for finance, the position of Billing and Invoicing Clerk at BOCMA could be your ideal career opportunity.


    The Billing and Invoicing Clerk is responsible for tracking money owed to BOCMA by customers, preparing invoices, and updating financial records.

    Billing and Invoicing Clerk Job Overview

    • Position: Billing and Invoicing Clerk
    • Salary: R335 756 basic per annum
    • Location: Worcester

    About Breede-Olifants Catchment Management Agency (BOCMA)

    The Breede-Olifants Catchment Management Agency is a vital organization dedicated to the integrated management of water resources within the Breede-Olifants Water Management Area. Established to ensure the sustainable use and development of water resources, BOCMA plays a crucial role in supporting social and economic development in the region while protecting aquatic ecosystems. Our mission includes promoting equitable access to water, enhancing water quality, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to achieve holistic water management solutions.

    BOCMA operates under the principles of fairness, inclusivity, and sustainability, making a significant impact on the lives of communities within the Western Cape Province.

    Requirements

    To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Education: Diploma/Degree in Finance
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant billing and invoicing role
    • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, good organizational and communication skills, client and service orientation
    • Knowledge: Understanding of financial legislation, policies, and practices, including the PFMA, anti-corruption strategy, and fraud prevention measures
    • Additional: A valid driver’s license is advantageous

    Key Performance Areas

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Creating monthly billing orders for all customers
    • Ensuring data integrity in the accounting system
    • Assisting in data clean-up and customer data updates
    • Verifying and rectifying system interface errors
    • Preparing documents for customer balance adjustments
    • Maintaining a database of billing queries and resolving them effectively
    • Issuing invoices and customer account statements
    • Sending payment reminders and contacting customers
    • Updating accounting records with new payments and customer information
    • Handling customer complaints regarding bills
    • Providing financial reports to management
    • Assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • High accuracy and attention to detail
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Integrity, flexibility, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
    • Working knowledge of SAP
