    The City of Ekurhuleni has announced an exciting learnership opportunity under the Real Estate and Development Planning department, offering young, dynamic individuals the chance to gain valuable experience and kickstart their careers in the real estate and customer service sectors. This opportunity is ideal for residents of the City of Ekurhuleni who meet the required qualifications and are eager to learn and develop their professional skills.


    Learnership Programme Overview

    • Learnership Reference Code: CONT: XREAL003
    • Location: City of Ekurhuleni
    • Program Duration: Until June 25, 2025
    • Stipend: R3,000 per month
    • Program Type: Temporary Assignment (Learnership)
    • Key Focus Areas: Real Estate, Customer Service, Communication, Call Handling
    • Application Deadline: June 25, 2025

    Key Qualifications and Requirements

    To be eligible for this learnership, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications and requirements:

    • Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent): The program is open to individuals with a completed high school education.
    • South African Citizen: Applicants must be citizens of South Africa.
    • City of Ekurhuleni Residency: Only residents of the City of Ekurhuleni are eligible to apply. Proof of residence will be required.
    • Computer Literate: Basic computer skills are essential for the role.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are required, as the role involves interaction with customers.
    • Customer Service Orientation: A strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service is crucial.
    • Willingness to Work Shifts: Candidates must be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

    Core Responsibilities During the Learnership

    The learnership is divided into two key areas: Training and Placement.

    Training Responsibilities:
    During the training phase, candidates will be expected to:

    1. Work for the employer as part of the learning process: Participants will gain practical experience in real estate and customer service.
    2. Participate in all learning and work experience required by the learnership: Attending all study periods and theoretical sessions provided by the training provider is a key component of the program.
    3. Comply with Workplace Policies: Adherence to workplace policies and procedures will be mandatory.
    4. Complete Assessment Tools: Participants will be required to complete timesheets and written assessment tools to track progress.
    5. Undertake All Learning Conscientiously: Candidates must be committed to their learning journey and engage in all educational activities seriously.

    Placement Responsibilities:
    During the placement phase, the candidates will focus on handling inbound and outbound calls and providing excellent customer support. The core tasks include:

    1. Answering and Processing Customer Calls: Efficiently handling customer calls while adhering to company scripts and guidelines.
    2. Assist with Orders, Inquiries, and Complaints: Candidates will assist customers with order placements, address inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide general support.
    3. Capturing Customer Information: Maintaining accurate records by capturing and updating customer details in the system.
    4. Following Up on Queries: Ensuring that customer queries are resolved in a timely manner, and any unresolved issues are addressed promptly.
    5. Collaborating with Team Members: Working with other team members and supervisors to enhance the call-handling process and customer satisfaction.

    Important Information

    To ensure the integrity of the selection process, candidates must meet the following additional requirements:

    • Applicants are allowed to apply for only one category within the learnership program.
    • The candidates must not be active on the City of Ekurhuleni’s HR system at the time the program commences.
    • If candidates do not receive feedback within eight weeks after the closing date, they can consider their application unsuccessful.
