Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus an appropriate NQF level 6 or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Minimum of three (03) years experience in a communication environment with expertise in social media applications.
- Valid driver’s license (excluding persons with disabilities).
- Passion and proven work experience as a Social Media Manager.
- Knowledge, Competencies, and Skills:
- Awareness of current news trends.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to package content for social media use.
- Training in social media use will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of communication principles, techniques, and tools.
- Problem analysis skills.
- Client orientation and customer focus.

Duties:
- Develop and manage all social media platforms of the Department.
- Design and implement social media strategy aligned with Departmental campaigns and programmes.
- Engage with followers and respond to queries promptly.
- Write, edit, and distribute various types of content, including website updates.
- Design and produce internal and external newsletters.
- Cultivate relationships with media outlets and maintain a database of contacts.
- Draft and issue media advisories.
- Establish departmental podcasts.
- Coordinate projects or campaigns with Public and Private Institutions.
- Manage implementation of the departmental communication plan, branding, and exhibitions for departmental events.
