Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development – Agricultural Advisor Position Overview:
- Location: Capricorn Northwestern / Vhembe Central
- Salary: R376,413 per annum (Level 08)
Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus a 4-year degree/B Tech in agricultural extension or equivalent tertiary qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Registration with a professional body (e.g., SACNASP).
- Valid driver’s licence (exceptions for people with disabilities).

- Extensive knowledge in agricultural advisory.

Duties:
- Promote sustainable agricultural development using extension principles.
- Provide technical support to organized agriculture and stakeholders.
- Assist in planning, advice, and aftercare support.
- Foster sustainable production of agricultural products.
- Identify research needs and facilitate their development.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous production and quality improvement.
- Provide scientific and technical advice.
- Conduct farmers’ days, demonstrations, and information sessions.
- Analyze situations to determine agricultural best practices and technology.
- Empower producers and commodity groups for self-reliance.
- Advise on crop production and other relevant subjects.
- Establish and maintain networks with stakeholders.
- Update and maintain farmers’ databases.
- Compile and submit monthly and quarterly reports.
- Stay updated on relevant prescripts, policies, procedures, and technology.
- Implement agricultural development programs (CASP, Letsema, Land care).
