Control Agricultural Resource Technician Position Overview
- Location: Head Office, Polokwane
- Salary: R552,081 per annum (Level 10)
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 plus an appropriate NQF level 6 qualification in Agriculture/Natural Resource Management or Environmental Science as recognized by SAQA.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant experience post-qualification in Agriculture/Natural Resource Management/Environment.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in computer literacy and MS Project Management.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Familiarity with EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme) reporting system.
- Understanding of government service delivery environment, teamwork, PFMA (Public Finance Management Act), and LRA (Labour Relations Act).
- Knowledge of Community Development, IDP (Integrated Development Plan), PGDS (Provincial Growth and Development Strategy), CASP (Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme), LandCare, and conflict resolution reform.
- Experience in EPWP policy and development/land use planning.
Key Responsibilities
As a Control Agricultural Resource Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate Land Care Services and facilitate technology transfer on sustainable soil systems such as Conservation Agriculture.
- Support planning and implementation of soil conservation services.
- Prepare budgets, manage demands, handle contracts, and compile technical reports.
- Coordinate mechanical service provisions and manage external service providers.
- Manage and coordinate projects in alignment with national policies and provincial objectives.
- Participate actively in multi-disciplinary teams.
