Minimum Requirements
- M+3 Tertiary Qualification: Degree in Cost and Management Accounting or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Budgeting, Costing, Financial data analysis, and reporting.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), ERP systems.
- Knowledge: SCM Policy and Procedure, PFMA, NT Regulations, IFRIS, government budgeting planning cycle.
- Skills: Financial information analysis, Activity Based Costing, different costing methods, and computerized accounting systems.
Specific Functional Responsibilities
- Budgeting:
- Assist in annual budget compilation.
- Monitor budget vs expenditure and inform managers of potential over/under spending.
- Capture and maintain budget on ERP system.
- Costing and Cost Control:
- Support budgeting and forecasting of project and operational costs.
- Track cost data against project budgets.
- Establish cost centres in ERP system.
- Identify operational and financial improvements to maximize profit margins.
- Allocate costs to various cost centres and general ledger accounts.
- Cost utilities, investment property accounts, internal revenue, and grant funding costs.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly variance reports.
- Compile monthly commitments reports, grant schedules, and cashflow statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss reports.
- Submit variance reports to management promptly.
- Monitor and improve financial systems.
- Financial Performance Analysis:
- Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses.
- Report on expenditure variances and causes.
- Reconcile monthly commitment registers.
- Liaise with project managers on project spend versus budget.
- Analyze product margins.
