    Department of Home Affairs Requirements:

    Undergraduate qualification in:

    • Public Administration
    • Public Management
    • Business Administration
    • Administrative Management
    • Operations

    • Recognized at NQF Level 6 by SAQA
    • NQF Level 7 qualification in:
    • Bachelor of Administration
    • Business Administration
    • Bachelor of Arts with majors in:
      • Industrial Psychology
      • Public Administration (advantageous)

    Experience:

    • One (1) year clerical experience (advantageous)
    • Experience in client and customer service environment (advantageous)
    • Sound knowledge of Batho Pele Principles
    • Valid driver’s licence (Code 10) and valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

    Knowledge:

    • Basic knowledge of Public Service Regulations
    • Basic knowledge of Departmental Legislation and Prescripts (Civic Services)
    • Basic knowledge of Human Resource Regulatory Framework

    Duties:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following specific tasks:

    • Supervising and overseeing daily operations of Civic Services functions within Mobile Offices, including Identity Document, Birth, Marriage, and Death (BMD) as well as Passport application processes.
    • Monitoring operations across different service points.
    • Managing client queues efficiently and overseeing daily office operations.
    • Ensuring proper maintenance and inspection of the Mobile Office for service readiness.
    • Conducting daily trips and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain optimal safety conditions of the Mobile Unit.
    • Implementing effective risk management and compliance practices.
    • Facilitating client service provision at various service points.
    • Operating specialized equipment in both front and back-office settings as required.
    • Driving the mobile unit to designated service points and setting up at scheduled locations punctually.
    • Assisting clients, including disabled individuals, to embark and disembark from the mobile units as needed.
    • Cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Adhering to relevant Civic Services frameworks.
    • Supervising human and physical resources within the unit to ensure efficient operations.

    Department of Home Affairs Additional information:

    Applicants for the Mobile Officer position must adhere to the following requirements and procedures:

    • Clearly indicate full details of their driver’s licence and Professional Driving Permit (PDP), ensuring validity at the time of application submission.
