    DWYPD is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join the Office of the Director-General, offering a chance to support initiatives promoting the rights and opportunities of women, youth, and persons with disabilities.     Administrative Assistant Overview:

    • Salary: R255,450 annually (Level 06), inclusive of benefits
    • Location: Pretoria

    DWYPD Administrative Assistant Requirements:

    • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
    • National Certificate in Office Administration or equivalent NQF level 5 qualification.
    • No prior experience required.
    • Knowledge of departmental policies and applicable protocols.
    • Understanding of the regulatory framework governing the public service.
    • Skills in effective verbal communication.
    • Basic numeracy skills.
    • Computer literacy, especially in the MS Office Suite and Intranet.
    • Strong interpersonal relations.
    • Proficiency in general office administrative and clerical tasks.
    • Personal attributes include being resourceful, able to work under stressful situations, effective communication at all levels, people-oriented, trustworthy, punctual, hardworking, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in secretarial and clerical tasks for the Chief Director’s office.
    • Oversee the front desk operations within the Chief Director’s office.
    • Coordinate logistical support services for the Chief Director’s office.
    • Administer various administrative tasks to support the overall functioning of the Office.

    Additional information:

    • Only applications on the new Z83 form will be considered; those on the old form will not be accepted.
    • All fields on the Z83 form must be completed fully to enable the selection committee to assess candidates effectively.
    • South African applicants do not need to provide passport numbers.
    • Applicants must respond “Yes” or “No” to the question regarding conducting business with the state, with details attached if applicable.
    • Copies of qualifications and other relevant documents are not required initially, but applicants must submit the completed and signed Z83 form and a detailed Curriculum Vitae.
    • Shortlisted candidates will be informed by HR if certified documents are required and must submit them before the interview.
    • Foreign qualifications require an evaluation report from SAQA, to be provided only by shortlisted candidates.
    • Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified within three months of the closing date.
    • The Department reserves the right not to make appointments to the advertised posts.
    • Successful candidates must enter into a performance agreement within three months of assuming duties and conclude a prescribed contract of employment within one month of appointment.
    • Appointments will be made only at the first notch of the advertised salary level.
    • All shortlisted candidates will undergo personal security vetting.
    • The Department will ensure the protection of applicants’ personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2021.
