    The Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary, under the Western Cape Department of Agriculture (WCDoA), stands as a beacon of educational excellence and skills development in agricultural production.


    The Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary offers a range of qualifications, from NQF level 1 learnerships to a B. Agric degree at NQF level 7.

    Both the WCDoA and the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute (EATI) are dedicated to enhancing education and training services for learners and small-scale farmers, ensuring a continuous supply of skilled individuals crucial for sustaining agriculture in South Africa.

    One of the key initiatives supporting this goal is the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary, designed to nurture human capital essential for the province’s agricultural sustainability and growth.

    Focus on Inclusivity and Need-Based Support

    The Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary gives first preference to:

    • Individuals from historically disadvantaged backgrounds, including black applicants, persons with disabilities, and women.
    • Applicants demonstrating financial need.
    • South African Citizens.

    Eligibility and Application Criteria

    To be eligible for the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Course Enrollment: Only applicants applying for courses at EATI, including the BAgric Degree, Diploma in Agriculture, and Equine Studies, are eligible.
    • Application Form: Obtain the EATI-Bursary-Application-Form-2025 application form from the department or online. Complete it accurately, ensuring all required signatures are in place. The use of correction fluid (tippex) is prohibited.
    • Supporting Documents: Provide all documents requested on the application form. Failure to submit the required documents will result in the application being considered incomplete.
    • Submission Method: Only applications submitted on the prescribed application form for the year 2025 will be considered. Faxed or emailed application forms are not accepted.
    • Service Obligations: Bursary recipients cannot accept multiple bursaries that come with service obligations.
    • Honesty and Integrity: Providing false information will result in the immediate cancellation of a bursary.

    Application Process

    To apply for the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary, follow these steps:

    1. Obtain the Application Form

    Access the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary application form from the department’s website.

    2. Complete the Application Form

    • Use black ink only.
    • Write within the designated blocks, using one letter per block and starting from the first block.
    • Indicate your choice by marking the appropriate block with an “X”.
    • Ensure all information is accurate and complete.

    3. Prepare Required Documents

    Gather all documents requested on the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute Bursary application form. These may include:

    • Proof of identity (e.g., ID card or birth certificate)
    • Academic transcripts or certificates
    • Proof of financial need (e.g., family income statements)
    • Other documents as specified by the application form
