    Responsibilities

    As an Engineering Assistant Electrical, your primary responsibilities will include:

    1. Line Inspection and Maintenance:
      • Perform line inspections and servitude maintenance.
      • Conduct hardware defect repairs to ensure optimal performance of transmission lines.
    2. Fault Investigations:
      • Investigate faults in transmission lines and participate in restoration operations during emergencies.
    3. Safety and Compliance:
      • Adhere to Zero Harm principles to ensure a safe working environment.
      • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and handling of dangerous substances.
    4. Tool and Equipment Management:
      • Maintain tools and equipment used in line maintenance and inspections.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

    Qualification(s):

    • Trade Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical at NQF Level 4 with 120 credits (Qualified Artisan).

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations and maintenance.

    • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and the handling of dangerous substances
    • ORHVS authorization to take handover

    • ORHVS (Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems)
    • First Aid skills
    • Negotiation and communication skills
    • 4×4 driving skills
    • Climbing and working at heights abilities
