    Examiner of Motor Vehicles Job Details

    • Job Title: Examiner of Motor Vehicles: Grade A
    • Place of Work: Malmesbury
    • Vacancy Reference Number: V28/24
    • Directorate: Protection Services
    • Salary: R 240 696 – R 312 420 per annum (T-09 of a Category 4 Local Authority)
    • Closing Date: Friday, 26 July 2024, at 12:00

    Requirements

    • Registration: Registered by the Provincial Administration as an Examiner of Vehicles
    • Diploma: Valid Grade A Diploma for an Examiner of Motor Vehicles
    • Driving License: Valid Code A and Code EC driving license
    • Criminal Record: No criminal record
    • Skills: Good communication skills, interpersonal skills, fluency in at least two of the official languages (Afrikaans and English), and ability to work under pressure
    • Additional Skills: Conflict management
    • Education: Grade 12
    • Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office
    • Relevant Experience: 2-5 years in a related field

    Key Performance Areas

    • Administrative Functions: Information recording and record keeping
    • Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained
    • Vehicle Examination: Conducting vehicle examinations for roadworthiness
    • Enquiries: Conducting inquiries related to vehicle roadworthiness
    • Traffic Officer Assistance: Providing assistance to Traffic Officers
    • Supervision: Supervising subordinates
    • Other Tasks: Carrying out other reasonable instructions as needed

    General Information

    1. Service Bonus: Equivalent to one month’s salary, supplemented by normal municipal benefits, including a housing allowance for homeowners (subject to conditions) and relocation costs (conditions apply) for posts on T-14 and higher.
    2. Employment Equity: The Municipality is committed to Employment Equity and respects the Employment Equity Act. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the Employment Equity Targets.
    3. Appointment Discretion: The Municipality reserves the right not to make any appointment.
    4. Screening and Vetting: Applicants may be subjected to screening and vetting, with their consent. Fraudulent qualifications or documentation will immediately disqualify an applicant.
