Social Worker Positions in the Free State Department of Social Development

The Free State Department of Social Development is inviting applications for multiple Social Worker Grade 1 positions located in various districts:


  • Mangaung Metro: 43 positions
  • Fezile Dabi District: 17 positions
  • Thabo Mofutsanyana District: 19 positions
  • Lejweleputswa District: 32 positions
  • Xhariep District: 10 positions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (NQF 7) or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker
  • Knowledge of relevant Public Service legislation
  • Proficiency in any official language in the Free State Province
  • Additional preference given to candidates with:
    • Internship/practicum in a Social Development setting
    • Valid South African driver’s license
    • Computer literacy

Duties

  • Render social work services for vulnerable individuals, groups, families, and communities.
  • Address social instability issues.
  • Stay updated on social work and social welfare developments, legislation, and policy framework.
  • Perform administrative functions required for the job.
