Requirements:
- A basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e., Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- At least six (6) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in the speciality after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification in either ICU or Theatre.
- At least three (3) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience at a management level.
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing Administration.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of nursing processes, procedures, and relevant public service acts.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, interpersonal and conflict management skills, and a basic understanding of Human Resources and Financial management policies.
Duties:
- Manage and coordinate holistic, comprehensive, specialized nursing care in the ICU, Theatre, and CSSD in conjunction with team members within a professional and legal framework.
- Ensure the maintenance of quality care standards in ICU, Theatre, and CSSD services.
- Provide effective supervision of staff, and ensure efficient patient care.
- Oversee infection control and prevention practices by all staff, including support and cleaning staff.
- Monitor and evaluate care to ensure data management and implementation of health care delivery policies.

2: Professional Nurse Specialty Theatre – Tambo Memorial Hospital (3 Positions)
- Job Title: Professional Nurse Specialty Theatre

Requirements:
- A basic nursing diploma/degree accredited with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Must possess a post-basic nursing qualification (minimum duration of one year) accredited with SANC in Operating Theatre Specialty.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to health care service.
Duties:
- Provide nursing care according to the scope of practice for nurses in the area of allocation.
- Adhere to the principles of nursing practice according to quality assurance standards and set rules.
- Promote professionalism and lead by example.
- Coordinate activities with other health team members.
- Function as a shift leader and provide relief for the operational manager.
