Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254 plus R880) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Experience: Grade 1: None.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
- Inherent requirement of the job: Valid Code EB/EC drivers’ licence.
- Willingness to perform after-hour training service for staff members on night.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel &
- Outlook) Knowledge of the nursing education and training.
Duties
- Facilitate the in-service training/updating of skills and competencies as well as the orientation programme for nurses.
- Assist with effective management and utilisation of physical, material and financial resources within the nurse training department.
- Maintain ethical standards and promote professional growth and self – development.
- Participate in personal development, research and quality initiatives.
- Implement assessment strategies to determine staff and learners’ competencies.
